At this point we would like to insert a glowing review of the Chartfield Guesthouse in Kalk Bay. As you can see from the picture above, the view from their veranda is lovely. The staff were extraordinarily attentive, provide wonderful advice on the local attractions, and are all over wonderful people! The rooms are cozy and the food service, top notch. They have delivered coffee and tea to our room each morning and their breakfast service ... absolutely delightful. Even though it is approximately 45 minutes from Cape Town proper, it is well worth making the commute to enjoy the scenery and the quaint small-town surroundings. And it's a perfect starting point to explore the Cape Peninsula area.
We're unsure of the Internet availability at our accommodations in Kynsna, so we're not sure when we be able to update the blog again. Of course if there is access, expect a full report of our Garden Route excursion this evening.
Administrative note: We have received some feedback that the comment function was not operating on the blog. We believe we have corrected this, so feel free to leave comments and feedback.
Until our next posting,
